Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Denver, Colorado,
This position is expected to begin in May 2026 and end in August 2026.
Internships are designed to introduce and build essential hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional. Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in establishing a safe working environment and safety culture
- Fulfill both field and office responsibilities as assigned by the Field Coordinator which include but are not limited to:
- Report to Field Supervisor.
- Support Field Observer(s) with their daily tasks.
- Conduct daily field observations of field activities including potholing, restoration, and pre-construction meetings.
- Complete daily activity and other reports.
- Engage/follow up with customers in a professional manner in obtaining Consent Form approval.
- Attend and contribute to monthly All-Hands Meetings.
- Perform field reviews for constructability, tree conflict, task order/work area closeout and warranty walks.
- Support Construction Management Team with their daily tasks.
- Upload reports using various software.
- Perform QC on safety observations with Field Coordinator.
- Assist with initial review of contractor submittals (materials, RFIs, etc.) for Field Coordinator's approval.
Minimum Requirements
- Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, and must have completed at least 1 year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
- Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices.
- Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Interest in pursuing continuing education in Construction Management or Engineering.
- OSHA 10 Certification (able to obtain during internship).
- Relocation will not be available for this position.
