Position Summary:
Reporting to the Human Resources Advisor, and in collaboration with the Administrative Supervisor, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide a full range of administrative support activities related to human resources business processes for the academic, management, and support staff and other unionized and non-unionized groups, for the Schulich School of Music's Departments of Music Research and Music Performance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate the human resources functions for the Departments of Music Research and Music Performance.
Respond to general inquiries related to human resources policies and procedures and the application of collective agreements.
Prepare job postings, monitor online applications, produce offer letters, and administer hiring processes for MCLIU, AGSEM, AMUSE and non-unionized academic casual employee groups, such as Music Accompanists, in Workday.
Process time entries and payments via Workday; submit requests to Human Resources Advisor as needed. Assist with employer compliance processing.
Pull reports from Workday, verify and proofread information for accuracy.
Compile statistics and data for inclusion in reports. Update documents and reports, either in print or web form.
Provide support to Faculty committees, for example, Music Research Area Chairs (MRAC), Music Research Council, Performance Area Chairs (PAC), Performance Council, as needed. Record and distribute minutes.
Perform other related duties as required.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
Advanced computer proficiency, including word processing, spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, and experience with web and online communication tools. Experience with Workday, an asset.
Experience with navigating collective agreements and supporting multiple employee groups.
Strong ability to work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage large amounts of data.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to troubleshoot issues; resourceful in finding solutions or escalating appropriately.
