JOB TITLE: Assistant Brand Manager
REPORTS TO: Marketing Director
LOCATION: Markham, Ontario (Hybrid)
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Marketing Director, assist the business leader in the management of the brand(s), including conducting ongoing evaluation of the business(es), providing insights leveraging your analytical skills to course correct as required to achieve sales, market share and profit targets. Assist in developing and executing marketing communication and annual business plans as well as packaging and product launch projects with excellence via solid project management, communication and collaboration abilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Insights/Analytics: Prepare and present ongoing monthly business analyses leveraging multiple sources of data (consumption, shipment, financial, syndicated, custom) to explain variances and identify forward-looking opportunity/risk to planned share, sales and profit
Assist brand and insights team in developing consumer and shopper research strategies and assets
Budget Management: Manage, reconcile and process expenses within brand budget
Planning/Strategy: Conduct and present thorough business analysis on yearly basis in conjunction with cross functional team and identify key issues and opportunities
Assist in development of annual strategies and business plans
Packaging: Lead label design projects in response to regulatory directives, product changes or artwork refreshes
Marketing Communications: Execute with excellence annual marketing communication plan to drive awareness, consideration and conversion with our consumers and shoppers including:
Assisting with brief development through to execution of the initiatives in conjunction with internal and external agency stakeholders
Assisting with advertising creative, media and new product initiatives
Leading activation of consumer and retail promotional marketing projects including post mortems and sales presentations
Innovation: Support innovation projects from concept to commercialization in conjunction with cross-functional team which includes regulatory, legal, project management, customer strategy, demand and supply
OVERALL QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree or diploma in business OR alternative degree or diploma with relevant business experience
1-2 years of experience preferred
Strong analytical mind-set
Solid communication, project management and creative problem-solving skills
Experience working within team environment
Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and resource needs with attention to detail
Illustrates Initiative and ability to work independently
Proficient Microsoft office software (powerpoint, excel, word)
Some local day travel required, potential for overnight North American travel 1-2 times annually

Salary Range:
$68,000 - $98,000 annually
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Compensation will be determined based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, skills, work experience, and internal equity considerations.
