We are currently looking for a Mold Maker to join our team, working the rotating- days, afternoons and midnight shift. 

Job Summary 

Mold Makers are responsible to repair and maintain equipment, tools, and machinery. Repairs and modifications to all molds and dies to extent of the mold shop capabilities. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

§ Repairs and maintains equipment, tools, and machinery by performing the following: Studies blueprint/CAD of tools, templates and parts. Visualize shape, mechanical structure and operation of tools 

§ Computes dimensions, plans for machining and assembly operation 

§ Repairs or replaces defective parts, clean, lubricates and inspects mold parts as part of tool PM or repair procedure 

§ Welding and filing of tools, as well as venting tools, and maintaining vents as necessary 

§ Grinding speakers, and maintaining the speaker's appearance 

§ Emergency repair molds and tools 

§ Measures mark and scribes' metal for machining 

§ Verify dimensions, clearance and alignment of parts in the tools 

§ Connect wiring and hydraulic lines to install electrical and hydraulic components 

§ Responsible to set up and operate machine tools such as lathe, milling M/C, welders, drill press, surface grinder to fabricate or repair parts to the specifications, and verifies conformance of parts to specifications 

§ Inspect parts to determine the cause of wear; smooth, flat and control surfaces to achieve correct fit 

§ Schedule Tooling PM and coordinate with production timing and inventory of affected product 

§ Inventory control of spare parts for all tools (Injection and Compression); procurements of spare parts request 

§ Maintain 5S of the Mold Maintenance area 

§ Support process engineer and technicians in trouble shooting 

§ Participate in new projects/tools trials 

§ Support Maintenance associates, if required 

§ Performs other duties as assigned 

Job Qualifications 

Education  

§ Successful completion of OSSD (or equivalent) 

§ Licensed journeyperson (mold maker, tool & die maker, or other relevant trade) 

Experience  

§ Six months to one-year related experience and/or training 

Skills and Abilities  

§ Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines and importance of tasks 

§ Manage time efficiently while working on several different tasks at once 

§ Display a strong sense of urgency when required 

§ Ability to adapt to changing demands of production 

§ Ability to show resourcefulness when problem solving & troubleshooting 

Other  

§ Crane license 

§ Forklift license 

§ Ability to travel when necessary

§ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate.
