NATURE AND SCOPE:  

The Labourer is responsible for supporting daily site operations through a variety of physical and maintenance related tasks, including loading and unloading materials, snow removal, fueling vehicles, running errands, assisting trades, and maintaining an orderly worksite. This role contributes to a safe, efficient, and well-functioning environment by providing hands on support where needed, performing light maintenance such as painting, and adapting to changing tasks and conditions, including work in physically demanding and adverse weather environments. Related tasks, including loading and unloading materials, snow removal, fueling vehicles, running errands, assisting trades, and maintaining a functioning environment by providing hands on support where needed, performing light maintenance such as painting, and adapting to changing tasks and conditions, including work in physically demanding and adverse weather environments.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Loading and unloading of cargo, materials, supplies and equipment
• Shoveling, snow removal
• Assisting other trades onsite
• General site maintenance, including assisting maintaining orderly worksite
• Painting and light maintenance 
• Fueling vehicles
• Running errands, processing deliveries
• Performs other duties assigned by a higher authority, which are unplanned or of a transient nature.

WHO YOU ARE: 

• Previous experience in a Labourer role, or a related job are considered an asset
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to lift to 50lbs
• Ability to integrate successfully into a small, multi-cultural and team-oriented department 
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), as required 
• Ability to work under physically demanding, often adverse weather conditions in remote Arctic locations 
• Capable of working with minimal oversight but willing to follow directions closely
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment considered an asset

WHAT WE OFFER:  

• Fly-In Fly-Out Schedule: 8 weeks on site, 8 weeks off site rotation. Travel from home to site is paid from any location in Canada, with overnight stays in Thule, Greenland, as required. 
• Living Arrangements: Private accommodations with meals, Wi-Fi, TV, laundry facilities, and recreational access provided while on site. 
• Competitive Compensation: Hourly rate of $28.26 -$29.75, 48-hour workweeks (Monday–Saturday), additional $27 daily isolation allowance while on site. 
• Vacation Pay: 6% vacation pay on every paycheck. 
• Clothing Allowance: Arctic clothing and annual safety footwear allowance of $175.
