Are you passionate about creating safe, nurturing, and inspiring environments for children to learn and grow? At the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario, we're looking for an enthusiastic MobYle Program Coordinator who brings heart, creativity, and professionalism to their work every day. As a MobYle Program Coordinator, you'll be a key part of a dynamic team that supports children's development through play-based learning, meaningful relationships, and a commitment to health and safety. This Summer position within the Association is located in the City of Timmins.
START DATE: May 4, 2026
LOCATION: Timmins
RATE OF PAY: 18.00 per hour
*This position includes the Ministry of Education Wage Enhancement Grant (WEG) of up to an additional $2.00/hour for qualifying roles within a licensed child care program at the YMCA
HOURS: 40 hours per week
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Working towards a college diploma or university degree in Recreation & Leisure Services or related field
- Experience working with children and/or youth
- Experience playing and/or organizing active games and sports
- Current Standard First Aid with Infant and Child CPR (Level C) *Recognized by the WSIB
- Valid (G Class) Driver's License and/or means to travel to offsite programs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Current and satisfactory Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within the last 6 months)
What You'll Be Doing
Child Supervision & Programming- Create and implement a quality program that encourages physical activity
- Provide attentive, compassionate supervision to ensure each child's health, safety, and well-being
- Keep accurate attendance records and conduct regular head counts - always know your numbers
- Direct, support and assist staff in the delivery of programs
- Assist in providing orientation, training and development opportunities to program staff
- Respond to program related concerns in a positive and timely manner
- Follow YMCA policies and the Child Care & Early Years Act (CCEYA), along with guidelines from Public Health, Fire Department, and other agencies
Administrative Duties & Professional Development
- Record live attendance and ensure it matches the number of children in your care
- Attend team meetings
- Provide reports and updates related to programs as required
- Collaborate with your supervisor on goal setting and performance reviews
- Complete required documentation for incidents, health and safety, and child development
- Safely store confidential records and data
- Support the team with other duties as assigned
