Job DescriptionThe House of Commons' Office of the Clerk & Secretariat (OCS) is currently looking to staff the Senior Advisor, Continuous Improvement position.
As Senior Advisor, Continuous Improvement, you will serve as a core member of the Continuous Improvement team. This team is part of Corporate Planning and Performance and resides with Audit and Improvement in the Office of the Clerk and Secretariat Service Area.
You will be responsible for delivering strategic and cross-functional level continuous improvement services based on the Lean Agile approach to support the House of Commons' Administration to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
You will lead client work teams in the planning and implementation of complex, cross-functional and strategic business process improvement projects to sustain the drive for continuous improvement across the House Administration. This includes providing expertise and advice to Service Areas in the review and assessment of processes, the identification of waste, cross-functional challenges, and the implementation of improvements and corrective measures to improve client service delivery across the organization.
This position is also responsible for developing processes and tools to guide, train, and raise awareness to promote and support continuous improvement. This includes coaching and mentoring other Continuous Improvement Advisors.

Education :
- University graduation with a degree in business administration or management sciences, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience;
- An advanced certificate (i.e., Black Belt) or training in Lean, Six Sigma, performance improvement methodologies/tools, is preferable.
Experience :
- Considerable experience in driving continuous improvement in service and/or production environments;
- Considerable experience in a leadership role facilitating cross-functional teams both in-person and virtually;
- Considerable experience in providing expertise in continuous improvement techniques to achieve client objectives within the costs allowable;
- Working experience facilitating training sessions/workshops;
- Considerable experience in project management (planning, delivery, follow-up and close out).

- Strong interpersonal and relationship skills with an empathetic and collaborative approach to diverse perspectives;
- Engagement and facilitation skills in leading discussions and group reflection activities;
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to translate complex information in a clear and accessible manner.
