We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our Washington, D.C. distribution center. This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our facility, ensuring that materials are handled safely and effectively. As a Forklift Operator, you will operate powered industrial trucks to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your precision and adherence to safety protocols will be critical to our logistics operations. - Operating forklifts and other powered material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Moving materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Conducting daily inspections of equipment and reporting any defects.
- Maintaining accurate records of material movements.
- Assisting with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Adhering strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborating with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize workflows.
Comprehensive training and all required PPE will be provided. This position demands physical capability, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Previous experience as a certified forklift operator is a must. A strong emphasis on safety, including a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics and best practices, is essential for success in this role.
