Our Los Angeles, California facility has an opening for a meticulous Shipping Clerk. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and processing outgoing shipments, ensuring all documentation is correct and that packages are ready for carrier pickup. Your attention to detail and understanding of shipping procedures are crucial for the seamless flow of our logistics operations and maintaining strong relationships with carriers and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document and prepare all outgoing shipments.
- Verify shipping information, addresses, and order details for accuracy.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., Bills of Lading).
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure packages are correctly sorted, staged, and loaded onto transport vehicles.
- Maintain organized records of all shipments.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, including proper use of PPE.
- Perform tasks involving occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Support overall logistics and warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics/administrative role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and WMS.
- Excellent data entry skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Familiarity with carrier requirements and shipping regulations.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate Lifting.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and wear required PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
