We are seeking an efficient and accurate Order Picker for our warehouse in Des Moines, Iowa. As an Order Picker, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from our inventory to fulfill customer orders. This role is fundamental to our daily operations and requires a high level of concentration and physical capability. Your work will directly impact our customer satisfaction and the overall success of our logistics operations. We are committed to providing a safe and rewarding work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately locate and pick products from warehouse shelves based on order details provided by pick lists or scanning devices.
- Verify item numbers, quantities, and product descriptions to ensure order accuracy.
- Use order picking equipment such as pallet jacks or electric carts safely and efficiently.
- Package picked items securely for shipment, ensuring product protection.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring all items are stored correctly.
- Report any stock discrepancies, damages, or low inventory levels to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Participate in inventory control activities, such as cycle counting.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, including stocking and receiving.
- Contribute to team efforts by working collaboratively to meet daily goals.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret pick lists and product labels accurately.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Proficiency in lifting items up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure high levels of order accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of basic warehouse procedures and inventory management.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines.
