*The Opportunity*
We are looking for a talented and analytical UX Interaction Designer to support the design of our digital products. This is a Digital Product Design role that requires you to be as comfortable conducting user research as you are crafting user interfaces.
You will sit at the heart of a cross-functional technology team, working alongside Product Managers, Business Analysts, QAs, and Engineers. Your role is to translate complex business and user requirements into intuitive, accessible, and beautiful experiences.
You will not just be designing screens; you will be helping to define the product strategy and supporting the Design System that powers our platform.
*Key Responsibilities*
*1. Interaction & Interface Design*
* Design elegant, intuitive UI for complex web and mobile applications. Ensure designs are visually consistent and align with brand guidelines.
* Produce high-fidelity, interactive prototypes to communicate interactions, transitions, and user flows to stakeholders and developers.
* Own, maintain, and evolve our Design System. Create and manage atomic components, variables, and styles to ensure scalability and consistency across the product suite.
*2. User Experience & Research*
* Partner with Product Managers and BA’s to lead discovery activities. Create User Journeys, Service Blueprints, and Personas to visualise the user experience.
* Work closely with Business Analysts to ensure that business logic and user needs are seamlessly integrated. Translate abstract requirements into tangible design concepts.
* Synthesise qualitative and quantitative data to identify friction points in the user journey and propose design solutions.
*3. Evaluation & Validation*
* Plan and facilitate usability testing sessions (remote and in-person) to confirm design hypotheses before code is written.
* Champion Inclusive Design. Ensure all outputs meet WCAG 2.2 AA standards. Conduct regular accessibility audits using screen readers and automated tools.
* Use data from A/B tests and analytics to drive continuous improvement of live products.
* Be the voice of the user within the business. Present design rationale confidently to senior stakeholders, balancing user needs with technical and commercial constraints.
*Person Specification*
*Essential Skills & Experience*
* A strong portfolio is needed. It must demonstrate your design process (case studies showing the "why" and "how," not just final visuals), systemic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficiency in Figma (or similar tools) is essential. Familiarity with tools like Miro is expected.
* Deep, practical knowledge of WCAG guidelines and how to design accessible services.
* Good understanding of front-end capabilities (HTML/CSS/React/Tailwind). You do not need to write code, but you must understand how your designs are built to ensure feasibility.
* Experience in a UX/UI or Digital Product Design role, ideally shipping live products in an Agile environment.
*Behavioural Competencies*
* You make decisions based on user research and data, not just intuition.
* You thrive in a "Three Amigos" environment (working with PMs and Engineers) and view feedback as a gift, not a critique.
* You care about micro-interactions and empty states as much as the "happy path".
