The IT Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making. The role involves working closely with IT, business stakeholders, and leadership to analyse data, develop reports and dashboards, and improve data-driven performance across the organisation.
Working Patterns and location – This is a hybrid role with 3 days per week on site in Southampton.
The Key Responsibilities of an IT Business Analyst:
* Gather, analyse, and interpret data from multiple IT and business systems
* Design, build, and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualisations (e.g. Excel, Power BI)
* Support business transformation, operational excellence, and performance improvement initiatives
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into analytical solutions
* Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting outputs
* Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and present insights clearly to non-technical audiences
Below is a list of Key Skills required for an IT Business Analyst, however you will not be expected to have everything:
* Proven involvement in business transformation and operational excellence initiatives
* Hands-on experience delivering supply chain improvement programmes
* Background in a software-focused organisation is highly desirable
* Prior exposure to defence or national security environments would be beneficial
* Working knowledge of software products, IT services, licensing structures, and Software Asset Management (SAM)
* Strong analytical capability, with advanced Excel skills essential and experience developing Power BI dashboards advantageous
* Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to elicit insights from individuals and teams that may not be immediately apparent
* Self-motivated professional with a demonstrated ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision
