Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Security Analyst to join its IT Department. This intermediate-level professional will play a key role in managing and enhancing the city's cybersecurity posture across multiple IT functional areas including data compliance, systems and network security, operations, and incident response.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage security protocols across enterprise IT systems. Assist in creating and implementing security policies and procedures. Investigate and remediate alerts from security tools. Monitor and enforce security controls and compliance. Conduct security risk analysis and prepare status reports. Evaluate vendor products and solutions for security compliance. Provide direct support to IT and business teams on security-related issues. Educate staff on security policies and best practices. Participate in IT projects to ensure security requirements are met. Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Certification:
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) required. Proven 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity frameworks, data compliance, systems and network administration. Hands-on experience in security operations and incident response. Ability to work independently or lead small to large security projects.
