Assess user requirements to design and develop streamlined database structures, coordinating necessary changes to the system.
Work closely with developers and end users to evaluate data access needs, anticipated transaction loads, and performance metrics to maintain integrated databases.
Carry out various database-related activities across different teams or clients, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of new databases, along with managing backup and recovery operations.
Install and configure database management systems (DBMS), enhancing procedures, documentation, and operational practices for troubleshooting and daily tasks.
Provide development support for databases, which includes creating tables, writing queries and stored procedures, and aiding in data modeling to meet organizational objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
5-10 years of pertinent work experience.
Other Required Skills: High attention to detail coupled with exceptional analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to multitask and excel in high-pressure environments.
Advanced knowledge of database backup and recovery strategies.
Familiarity with DBA productivity and performance enhancement tools.
Experience working with DoD and Federal Government is highly preferred.
Thorough understanding of security networks and infrastructure tools, including access control and encryption.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and innovative thinking to address data challenges.
Ability to delegate and effectively manage team dynamics.
