The Medical Technologist Supervisor leads a team of medical professionals in various aspects, including clinical testing, phlebotomy, and client services. Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring daily schedules and job performance.
- Oversight of quality control standards.
Licensure and certification requirements apply.
Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) is mandatory for hire. ASCP Specialty or Categorical Certification can also be accepted by the National Credentialing Agency (NCA) or American Medical Technologists AMT National Certifying Agency.
To continue employment after obtaining certification to meet this requirement on ongoing basis regular CE hours must be completed according obtaining results from The Board of Certification for Credential Maintenance Program CMP holders each year.
