Data Science is a cornerstone of our product development and decision-making processes at Coinbase. We collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to influence the product roadmap and understand user behavior. Through our advanced expertise in experimentation, analytics, and modeling, we generate impactful insights that significantly affect the company’s financial performance. We are specifically looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our Retail Trading Team. In this pivotal role, you will lead pricing experimentation and shape our pricing strategy by designing and analyzing testing frameworks, identifying avenues to boost user engagement and financial outcomes, and effectively communicating your insights to executives and leaders across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate as a strategic partner with cross-functional teams to develop a clear pricing vision, roadmap, and priorities.
Create and enhance pricing models and evaluation frameworks to determine optimal pricing strategies.
Develop causal models to isolate the impacts of fee changes using experimental and observational data.
Initiate and maintain high-quality data pipelines and models with meticulous attention to detail.
Present findings and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner to senior leadership.
Qualifications: Alignment with our core cultural values, including clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution.
PhD preferred; a Master's degree in Economics or Statistics with at least 5 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in pricing experimentation, data analysis, and statistical modeling.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other analytical programming languages.
Ability to independently plan analytics projects with a proven record of managing complex projects across multiple teams.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills, adept at conveying complex data and analyses to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong attention to detail and capacity to perform under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with causal inference techniques beyond controlled experiments.
Experience working with crypto-focused companies or in crypto exchanges.
