Your Impact As a passionate software engineer, you will leverage your skills to create scalable backend systems, design robust analytics platforms, and build infrastructural support for modern cloud and distributed computing initiatives. Your strong programming background, along with experience in distributed systems and cloud platforms, will enable you to tackle complex challenges with innovation. By developing and maintaining key software tools and backend infrastructure, you empower Cisco's business units to utilize AI and data-driven insights for operational excellence and strategic growth. Your contributions will ensure the reliability and performance of platforms that uphold Cisco’s leadership in intelligent and scalable technology solutions. Minimum Qualifications Completion within the past 3 years, or current enrollment with expected completion within 12 months, of a relevant degree/certification program (e.g., Associate's, Apprenticeship, Boot Camp, specialized certification + 1 year relevant experience, High School Diploma + 2 years relevant experience), or Bachelor's degree + 0 years experience. Proficiency in at least one backend programming language: C/C++, Java, or Go. Experience designing and developing microservices and APIs. Strong understanding of Linux and fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Preferred Qualifications Conceptual understanding of AI and ML. Experience with automation and software testing (e.g., pyTest). Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines. U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco's plan eligibility rules, including medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, and various forms of disability coverage. U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as outlined below, in accordance with Cisco's policies: 10 paid holidays per year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees. 1 paid day off for the employee's birthday, a year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid personal wellness days determined by Cisco. Non-exempt employees receive 16 days of paid vacation time accrued at a rate of 4.92 hours per pay period. Exempt employees participate in Cisco's flexible vacation time off program. 80 hours of sick time off provided upon hire and annually thereafter, with unused sick time carried forward. Additional paid time off may be requested for critical or emergency family issues. Optional 10 paid volunteer days per year. In addition, non-sales roles are eligible for annual bonuses based on Cisco's policies. For sales positions, incentive compensation is available, split between quota and non-quota performance, subject to Cisco's plans. Incentive details may vary based on individual performance and achievements. The applicable full salary ranges for this position, by specific state, include: New York City Metro Area: $104,700.00 - $153,000.00 Non-Metro New York state & Washington state: $92,100.00 - $136,000.00 Cisco is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
