Collaborate with various teams to thoroughly understand workflows, identify challenges, and discover opportunities for AI automation. Translate complex business challenges into actionable AI initiatives. Utilize advanced AI techniques, such as large language models (LLMs) and Agentic AI, to swiftly design, build, and iterate on functional prototypes like AI agents and intelligent workflows. Write high-quality, well-tested code in Python and Golang for these solutions. Work with cross-functional teams to develop prototypes into scalable and secure AI solutions that align with our long-term objectives. Provide insights on AI capabilities and promote best practices for responsible AI usage, along with mentoring team members on design principles and coding standards. Pilot AI solutions with functional teams, gather feedback, iterate, and support smooth transitions to demonstrate value. Collaborate with AI Platform and DevX teams to utilize existing infrastructure and ensure scalability and security of solutions. Engage with Security, Legal, and Compliance teams to ensure AI solutions comply with rigorous security, privacy, and ethical standards. Define success metrics, track ROI, and communicate the value of AI initiatives to stakeholders effectively. Continuously explore emerging AI models, tools, and industry best practices to bring cutting-edge solutions to Coinbase. Qualifications
5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 6 months in applied AI or intelligent automation. Strong skills in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services with a robust understanding of microservices architecture. Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs. Solid technical skills in system design and debugging complex issues to enhance reliability and scalability. Understanding of LLM capabilities and architectures. Hands-on experience with AI platforms and tools. Analytical and structured problem-solver, comfortable with ambiguity. Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Experience working across engineering and non-engineering teams. Strong grasp of data privacy and ethical considerations related to AI. Nice to Haves
Experience in building AI agents or automation solutions. Background in production ML/AI systems. Experience in the crypto or fintech sector. Pay Transparency Notice
The base salary is $186,065 - $218,900 USD, which may also include bonuses, equity, and benefits. Important Candidate Guidance
