Thrive Oldham are recruiting on behalf of our well established client A Technical Sales Representative. Technical Sales Representative We are looking for a motivated person to join our team and help grow sales for our gas installation products. In this role, you will work with Plumbing & Heating Merchants and M&E Contractors to promote our brand and support sales in your area. Your main goal will be to build good relationships, increase product awareness, and support customers so they can confidently choose. The role covers the North of England and Scotland and reports to the Sales Director. This is a great opportunity to join a well‑established business with a unique product and plenty of support. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain relationships with Merchants and Contractors. Visit customers regularly (around 60% Merchant calls / 40% Contractor calls). Look for new sales opportunities and help grow business in your region. Develop a deep understanding of our products, including their features, benefits, and applications, to effectively communicate with customers. Keep your sales activity and pipeline information up to date each month. Support Merchants and gas installers with basic product information and training. Promote products at customer visits, sales events, and trade shows. Keep up to date on what's happening in your area so you can spot opportunities. Make sure customers receive good service by communicating clearly and following up on needs or issues. Complete monthly sales forecasts and activity reports. Office/home based for 1 day a week in order to identify and pursue sales opportunities through outbound calls, emails, and other communication channels to generate leads and prospects. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling products to existing customers, maximising revenue. Be available for morning sales team meetings to discuss what your day looks like. Attend sales meeting when required. Skills & Experience Previous field sales experience (HVAC or plumbing/heating is a bonus but not essential). Comfortable speaking with Contractors and Merchants. Good communication skills and able to build strong customer relationships. Motivated, organised, and able to work independently. Confident, positive attitude with a desire to grow sales. Able to manage your own day-to-day tasks while working remotely. A professional manner is essential both face to face and via telephone & email. Strong and effective negotiation skills. The right personality and sales experience are keys to the success of this important role within the company. Good experience in sales planning, sales forecasting, sales prospecting, diary management.
