We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring timely loading and unloading of goods, and maintaining an organized inventory. You will be working in a fast-paced environment and must be able to adapt to changing priorities. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are paramount. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve products.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring accuracy and security of shipments.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts to ensure they are in good working order and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and management as needed.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and PPE requirements.
- Handle materials carefully to prevent damage.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the logistics operations.
- Must be able to perform tasks involving significant Lifting, sometimes exceeding 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with valid certification.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including Lifting.
- Understanding of safety procedures and the importance of wearing appropriate PPE.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
