We are hiring a Receiving Clerk for our San Diego, California distribution center. This role is critical for managing the initial intake of goods, ensuring accuracy and proper processing. The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for verifying incoming shipments, inspecting for damage, and accurately recording inventory data. Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying quantities and item numbers against purchase orders or invoices.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage or defects and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and label received items appropriately for proper identification and storage.
- Stage goods for put-away by other warehouse personnel.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to all **safety** regulations.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and cycle counts as needed.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment as necessary for material handling.
- Follow all **PPE** guidelines and **safety** protocols at all times.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including **lifting** up to 30 pounds, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Knowledge of **logistics** and inventory control procedures is beneficial.
- Understanding and adherence to **safety** standards and the proper use of **PPE**.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
