In this essential role, you will be responsible for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of our warehouse equipment and facility. Your duties will include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting safety inspections on various warehouse machinery, such as conveyors, forklifts, and automated systems. A strong understanding of industrial equipment and a commitment to safety are critical. You will work closely with the operations team to minimize downtime and ensure a secure working environment. Proper use of PPE is mandatory when performing any maintenance or repair tasks. This role requires a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, ensuring all equipment functions optimally to support our logistics operations. You will also be involved in minor repairs and the upkeep of the warehouse structure itself. Knowledge of safety regulations within a warehouse setting is crucial, and you must be able to identify and mitigate potential hazards. The ability to perform tasks involving lifting and operating tools is expected. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on warehouse equipment (conveyors, forklifts, palletizers, etc.).
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with machinery.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and the facility.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper PPE usage.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Respond to equipment malfunctions and perform emergency repairs.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment.
- Keep the maintenance shop organized and stocked with necessary parts.
- Contribute to a culture of safety and operational excellence in logistics.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment and logistics systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, climbing, and working in various positions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade certification is a plus.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
