We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is crucial for ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately documented, processed, and prepared for transit, playing a vital role in our company's logistics operations. You will be responsible for verifying shipment details, generating shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Maintaining a safe and orderly shipping area is a priority, and adherence to all safety procedures is required. While this role is less physically demanding than some warehouse positions, occasional lifting of smaller packages may be necessary. The use of appropriate PPE , such as safety vests, will be expected when working in operational areas.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately document and process all outgoing shipments.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation.
- Verify shipping addresses and order details for accuracy.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Communicate with internal departments and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Utilize company systems for tracking and management of shipments.
- Wear required PPE when necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including shipping software and MS Office.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform light lifting as required.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and logistics .
- Commitment to workplace safety .
- Willingness to adhere to PPE guidelines.
