We are seeking a proactive Material Handler to join our bustling warehouse in Seattle, Washington. This role is vital for ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods within our facility. Your duties will encompass loading and unloading materials, operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, and accurately storing and retrieving inventory. Maintaining a safe work environment is paramount, and you will be expected to strictly adhere to all safety protocols. This position plays a key part in our overall logistics operation. You will be responsible for handling a variety of materials, requiring care and precision. The correct use of PPE is mandatory for all tasks. This role requires physical stamina, including significant lifting and manual labor.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks and trailers with materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated warehouse areas.
- Accurately stock and retrieve inventory items.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock verification.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal workflow.
- Always wear and maintain the appropriate PPE .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment is highly preferred.
- Ability to handle frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Good understanding of warehouse operations and logistics .
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Dedicated to maintaining a high standard of workplace safety .
- Proficient in the use of required PPE .
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
