Seeking a skilled Material Handler for our large-scale distribution center in Los Angeles, California. This role is critical for the efficient movement of goods throughout our facility and plays a vital part in our overall logistics network. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies, to load, unload, move, and store materials. Accurate inventory management and the safe handling of products are paramount. This position requires a keen understanding of warehouse operations and a strong commitment to safety. You will be provided with all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and must strictly adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including those set by OSHA. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-conscious, and possesses excellent spatial awareness and physical stamina. This role involves significant lifting, often exceeding 50 lbs, and requires the ability to work efficiently in a demanding, fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks and containers.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated locations.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment.
- Assist with receiving and shipping functions as needed.
- Ensure all material handling activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification (preferred).
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (over 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
