We are looking for a reliable Material Handler to join our Grand Rapids, Michigan warehouse. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within the facility. This position is key to maintaining smooth logistics operations and requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. You will handle a variety of tasks related to inventory management and material distribution.
Responsibilities:
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Organize and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Be prepared for significant physical tasks, including manual Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role.
- Experience operating forklifts and other relevant equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Understanding of warehouse safety regulations and logistics principles.
- Must be physically capable of performing manual labor for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
