Join our leading logistics company in San Jose, California, as an experienced Forklift Operator! We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious individual to manage the movement of goods within our fast-paced warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, your primary duties will include operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack materials efficiently and safely. You will play a vital role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and supporting the overall operational flow of our distribution center. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a proven record of safe forklift operation, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment. We prioritize safety above all else and expect all operators to strictly adhere to safety regulations and wear the necessary PPE. Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, cherry picker) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently and securely.
- Perform daily inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment according to picking lists and instructions.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S principles.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies, including mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse associates and supervisors to ensure smooth operational flow.
- Contribute to overall warehouse efficiency and productivity in our logistics operations.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility.
- Manage the Lifting and movement of heavy materials regularly.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Proven ability to operate multiple types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting tasks, up to 75 lbs, on a regular basis.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to read and interpret product labels, shipping documents, and safety warnings.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems is a plus.
