Join our fast-paced logistics team as a Forklift Operator in the heart of New York City, New York! We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to manage the movement of materials within our warehouse. This role is critical to maintaining the efficiency of our operations, ensuring that goods are safely and accurately transported, loaded, and unloaded. If you have a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and proficiency in operating various types of forklifts, we want to hear from you. You will play an integral part in our daily logistics and material handling processes.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and stability.
- Transport goods to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any issues or maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety rules and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment, ensuring clear pathways for operation.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts as needed.
- Follow all instructions from supervisors regarding material handling and logistics.
- Perform tasks involving moderate lifting and manual movement of goods.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
Valid forklift operator certification is mandatory. Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial setting. Excellent knowledge of warehouse operations and safety protocols. Ability to perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance. Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness. Must be physically capable of performing manual tasks and occasional heavy lifting. Familiarity with different types of forklifts is an advantage. Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment is essential. Excellent communication skills and ability to follow directions.
