We are seeking a skilled Inventory Control Specialist for our San Diego, California logistics facility. This critical role involves managing and maintaining the accuracy of our warehouse inventory through systematic tracking, auditing, and process improvement. You will be responsible for ensuring that our inventory records are precise, minimizing discrepancies, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our supply chain operations. This position requires analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of warehouse logistics.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage inventory locations and ensure proper stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO).
- Oversee the receiving and put-away process to ensure accurate data entry and product placement.
- Maintain the warehouse management system (WMS) with up-to-date inventory information.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the correct use of PPE in inventory control activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of logistics best practices.
