*Responsibilities and Duties*:
Assess, plan, and recommend rehabilitative programs that help build or restore vocational, homemaking, and daily living skills, as well as general independence, to ISH patients.
*Prerequisites:*
* Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
* 1+ years’ experience providing patient assessments
* Current state OT license required.
* Compassionate and caring demeanor.
* CPR certification or ability to obtain.
* May need to occasionally cover weekends.
*Essential Functions*
The following list describes the essential duties of this role. Individuals in this role may not perform all of these duties, or may perform additional, related duties not listed here.
* Complete and maintain necessary records.
* Test and evaluate patients' physical and cognitive abilities and analyze medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals for patients.
* Select activities that will help individuals complete self-care, daily living, mobility activities with Independence and safety within limits of their cognitive and physical capabilities.
* Recommend adaptive devices for patients' work or living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities.
* Collaborate with physical therapy department to provide inpatient occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy
(PT) services.
* Help patients improve decision making, coordination, and perceptual skills, for independent and safe return to living environment.
* Provide training and supervision in therapy techniques and objectives for students or nurses and other medical staff.
* Analyze patient data to determine patient needs or treatment goals.
* Prepare reports summarizing patient diagnostic or care activities and document in patient's electronic health record.
* Select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new.
* Collaborate with primary care RN, Case manager and physician team to optimize patient care.
