Job Summary:
Join our dedicated logistics team in Washington, D.C. as a Receiving Clerk. This crucial role ensures the accurate and efficient processing of incoming shipments, maintaining the integrity of our inventory. You will be responsible for unloading, inspecting, and documenting all incoming goods, ensuring they match purchase orders and are properly stored. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining a safe working environment, requiring adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques. Responsibilities:
  • Unload incoming freight from trucks and containers safely and efficiently.
  • Inspect all incoming shipments for damage, discrepancies, and accurate quantities.
  • Compare received goods against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips.
  • Accurately document all received items using the warehouse management system (WMS).
  • Identify and report any shipping errors, damages, or shortages to supervisors immediately.
  • Tag and label incoming inventory for proper tracking and storage.
  • Move received goods to designated staging areas or storage locations using appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area, adhering to all logistics and safety regulations.
  • Follow all company safety guidelines, including mandatory PPE usage and proper lifting techniques.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role or general warehouse operations is highly preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Proficiency in basic math and computer skills, with experience in WMS being a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and inspection.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment, both independently and as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety.
