We are hiring a Receiving Clerk for our Des Moines, Iowa distribution center. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and documented. You will be responsible for unloading trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders, and processing paperwork. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks and trailers.
- Verify quantities and quality of received goods against purchase orders and invoices.
- Inspect shipments for damage and report any issues.
- Enter receiving data into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Stage goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of required PPE.
- Assist with inventory management as needed.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or receiving role preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Familiarity with scanning equipment is a plus.
- Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to wear PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
