We are looking for a dependable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient movement and organization of materials throughout our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory using forklifts and pallet jacks, and ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely. A strong commitment to safety is paramount; you will be required to wear appropriate PPE and follow all established safety procedures. This position requires physical stamina, as you will be involved in significant lifting and manual handling of goods. Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining inventory integrity and supporting smooth warehouse operations. You will work closely with other team members to meet productivity goals and contribute to the overall success of our logistics network. Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Move raw materials, finished goods, and supplies to and from designated areas.
- Organize and maintain inventory in warehouse storage areas.
- Ensure proper labeling and tracking of all materials.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and wear required PPE.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory verification.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support the logistics team by ensuring timely movement of materials.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a material handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Valid forklift certification (preferred).
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the use of PPE.
- Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good physical condition and stamina.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Familiarity with logistics operations is beneficial.
