We are hiring a dedicated Material Handler for our San Antonio, Texas facility. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the flow of materials throughout our warehouse, ensuring that production and shipping departments receive necessary supplies promptly. Key responsibilities include loading and unloading trucks, operating material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, and precisely stocking and retrieving inventory. A rigorous approach to safety and adherence to proper handling procedures are non-negotiable. You will help maintain a clean and organized work environment, directly contributing to the efficiency of our logistics operations. Diligence in inventory management is essential. This role requires effective collaboration with team members and supervisors, as well as the ability to work autonomously. All necessary PPE and training will be provided. This physically demanding job involves frequent lifting .
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling machinery safely.
- Load and unload materials efficiently from delivery vehicles.
- Transport materials to their correct destinations within the warehouse.
- Accurately stock and retrieve inventory items.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Conduct pre- and post-operation checks on equipment, reporting any issues.
- Strictly follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory checks and cycle counts.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse staff to optimize workflow.
- Consistently use all required PPE .
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience with material handling equipment is advantageous.
- Capability of performing substantial lifting , up to 50 pounds.
- Solid understanding of warehouse processes and logistics .
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety .
- Proficiency in using PPE .
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including overtime when needed.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Basic knowledge of inventory control systems.
