*Role Purpose*
As a Senior IT Engineer, you will take ownership of complex technical issues, maintain and develop our IT infrastructure, and ensure systems remain secure, efficient, and resilient. You will support key cloud, networking, and cybersecurity projects while acting as a senior escalation point and mentoring junior team members.
*Key Responsibilities*
· Administer and optimise Azure infrastructure, including Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Virtual Networks, App Services, and storage solutions.
· Manage and monitor Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments, ensuring performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
· Support and administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams.
· Implement governance, security, and compliance policies within the Microsoft 365 environment.
· Collaborate with internal teams and developers on the integration of Azure App Services and containerised applications.
· Lead infrastructure components of IT and digital transformation projects.
· Act as the final escalation point for complex technical issues.
· Provide mentoring and training to junior IT staff and apprentices.
· Maintain IT standards, policies, and documentation
*Required Skills and Experience*
· Robust experience in IT roles, including at least 2 years with Azure administration.
· Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure, including networking, compute, storage, and identity services.
· Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration and Entra ID (Azure AD).
· Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Intune, and Endpoint Manager.
· Solid networking knowledge (TCP / IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPN).
· Hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points.
· Knowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.
· Familiarity with SQL Server management and Azure SQL.
· Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
· Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance frameworks

Pay: £30,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
