Summary

The Warehouse Receiver will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and seamless reception and processing of incoming shipments. The Warehouse Receiver must load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment, e.g. lift truck, forklift, etc. Other responsibilities will include the inspection of incoming shipments to verify content and quality and assist walk-in customers with order fulfillment and paperwork. The Warehouse Receiver must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of incoming items. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking
  • Match product with purchase orders
  • Inspect product to ensure usability and saleable condition
  • Track shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required
  • Sort and distribute incoming shipments
  • Perform quality audits of the condition of received goods prior to signing off
  • Report discrepancies to immediate supervisors
  • Prepare receiving reports through ERP
  • Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete
  • Problem solve for any cases of missing documents, shipments, and deliveries
  • Assist walk-in customers with order fulfillment and paperwork

Requirements

  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving role preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification preferred, with demonstrated ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
  • Computer literate, including working knowledge of Excel and email systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to weigh and measure items accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail, with good organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and positive team attitude.

Working Conditions

  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required.
  • Work is performed in a combination of environments.
  • This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.

Position Details

  • Full-Time hours, Monday to Friday, 8 am – 4:30 pm (Onsite)
  • Based in Mississauga, Ontario
  • Hourly rate from $21.00 to $23.00
