1.Grade 12 education or recognized equivalent
2. Medical laboratory assistant certification from CSMLS/MLPAO
3. Proficient in registration, receiving and accessioning of all sample types
4. Demonstrated understanding and ability to prepare samples for flow cytometry analysis
5. Demonstrated ability to prepare and stain slides for analysis
6. Demonstrated ability to prepare and run samples on Hematology analyzer
7. Ability to perform reagent inventory to include receiving, logging and proper storage
8. Filing of slides and reports
9. Knowledge and experience in procurement of peripheral blood and other body fluid samples
10. Proficient in data entry, order entry and other LIS functionalities
11. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment

Monday to Friday, between 9am-7pm
This position is temporary until January 2027.
Under supervision and direction, responsible for the proper processing of appropriate specimens for laboratory testing on inpatients and outpatients. Performs a variety of laboratory tasks, including but not exclusive to specimen reception, sorting and labeling, data entry, specimen separation and preparation, which require learned manual skills rather than a technological training. Assists the Medical Laboratory Technologists in various sections within the Department of Laboratory Medicine.
