Position\: Technical Lead, Salesforce Marketing Cloud

Employment Type: Permanent

Compensation Details:

  • Tech Lead 18\: Salaries typically range from $96,557 to $128,743 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location: 

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)
  • This role can be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, or Laval.
  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:

The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences.  Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

  • Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC's 2030 business transformation.

  • Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.

  • Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.

  • Lead and ensure integrated digital, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity implementations to create excellent customer, user, and employee experiences.

As EDC aims to be the leader in making Canada and the World better through trade, the Digital Platform Delivery & Architecture (DPDA) group in EDC plays a critical role in enabling the business to leverage technologies by providing an easy-to-use, secure and fit-for-purpose digital business platforms.

To better position ourselves for success, the Digital Business Platforms group is seeking a highly skilled and visionary Salesforce Marketing Cloud Technical Lead to spearhead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performing Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions within our financial services ecosystem. This is a strategic leadership role where you will define architectural direction, and drive digital transformation using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next and cutting-edge DevOps practices.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to design and build innovative Salesforce solutions that truly make a difference for our business and improve our operational efficiency. You'll be working on impactful projects within the financial sector, using the latest technologies to foster growth and innovation. What you will be doing: 

  • Lead Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next development projects, ensuring best practices and security.

  • Architect and implement tailored Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next solutions that meet our business needs.

  • Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to our team of developers, encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions.

  • Advocate for DevOps practices and spearhead the setup of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Azure DevOps and GitHub.

  • Keep an eye on the latest Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next trends and industry regulations to ensure our solutions are current and compliant with the newest standards.

  • Customize solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and other tools.

  • Supports the key stakeholders in translating business needs into adequate technical solutions.

  • Leads activities related to the Software design, development and integration of information systems and platform technologies according to industry best practices and EDC standards.

  • Guide the adoption of best practices in coding, documentation, testing, and other aspects of the software lifecycle.

  • Applying your continually improving understanding of knowledge of EDC's software, SDLC practices, and the industry in general.

  • Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections, and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.

What we are looking for: 

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field such as Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a technical lead, working on Salesforce Marketing Cloud integrations in an enterprise environment.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce development (Apex, Lightning Components, Visualforce, and SOQL/SOSL).
  • Expert in Salesforce integrations, including REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, Kafka, or middleware solutions, and third-party services.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Azure DevOps for automated deployments, pipeline configurations, and version control.
  • Strong knowledge of Git branching strategies, pull requests, and repository management.
  • Proven track record in leading development teams and successfully delivering enterprise-level Salesforce solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of financial services processes.

What will make you stand out: 

  • Experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Marketing Cloud Next.
  • Understanding of banking, insurance, or financial regulations.
  • Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Application Architect, System Architect, or Technical Architect.
  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).
