Description

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS), the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, Seaspan Shipyards is leading the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians.

The Power Platform Intern will work closely with the Business Technology Solutions team to support Shipyards end users in the use and continuous improvement of Microsoft Power Platform solutions. This role provides hands-on exposure to modern application development, automation, governance practices, and user enablement while contributing across the full software development life cycle.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 889 Harbourside Drive, North Vancouver.

What you'll do
• Work closely with Power Platform Supervisors, Power App Developers, and Business/Systems Analysts to support Shipyards end users in the use of Microsoft Power Platform applications including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio
• Actively contribute across all phases of the software development life cycle
• Evaluate end user adoption and work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with usage policies, standards, and governance frameworks
• Support the delivery and deployment of Microsoft Power Platform solutions
• Assist with the creation of technical documentation for solutions deployed across the Shipyards
• Assist with the creation and execution of unit test cases and automation tests

What you'll bring
• Enrollment in 3rd or 4th year of a relevant undergraduate degree program in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and in person
• Excellent digital literacy including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams
• Understanding or experience with DevOps and Jira is an asset
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem solve
• Proven initiative, creativity, and integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
• Good judgment and reasoning skills

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.
