Our ideal candidate for the Senior Manager, Corporate FP&A position will be reporting to the Director, Corporate FP&A.

The successful candidate will own the end-to-end budgeting process for the entire enterprise, connect the dots between the macroeconomic environment and its implications for the grocery industry, be able to manage the process independently and demonstrate a strong interest in diving deep into analysis to generate meaningful insights. The role is suited for someone with strong business acumen who can effectively manage enterprise-wide planning processes. This role also supports the current and forward-looking performance management of the enterprise's retail and ancillary businesses, delivering insightful analysis to assess short- and long-term financial objectives and identify opportunities for improvement. You will be part of a dedicated and motivated team with exposure to all areas of the Loblaw business, including grocery and drug retail, banking, apparel, store support functions, and the strategic portfolio.

 Key Responsibilities /Job Duties:   

  • Own the Enterprise P&L annual budgeting end to end process.
  • Help prepare financial presentations and reporting packages for Senior Management.
  • Coordinate forecast submissions, assist in preparing materials, and support the analysis of key business insights.
  • Assist with quarter-end deliverables including analyses to support MD&A and other external messaging.
  • Foster strong cross-functional relationships across our corporate and divisional finance teams to help plan for and measure strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with various ad-hoc and cross-functional enterprise projects and initiatives as required.

Qualifications and Competencies  

A Post-Secondary education in Finance or related field is required; experience working in a fast-paced environment, particularly corporate and/or retail will be considered an asset 

The preferred candidate will also have:  

  • 5+ years of finance or accounting experience
  • Professional Finance Designations such as CPA or MBA preferred 
  • Excellent analytical thinking and acute attention to detail
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills – ability to work with people within the organization.
  • Ability to manage numerous priorities simultaneously amidst tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Strong business acumen, with an ability to focus on continuous improvement 
  • Results Oriented, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team 
  • Other duties as required
