Anglophone East School District is currently recruiting Casual School Bus Drivers.
* Previous school bus driving experience is not necessary.
The Opportunity:
This role is responsible for the safe, reliable operation of a heavy motor vehicle to ensure students are transported to and from schools and activities in a secure and efficient manner.
Also, it requires some knowledge of the mechanical operation of a bus and the responsibility for maintaining a mechanically sound vehicle.
School bus drivers typically work a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the afternoon. Drivers do not work on weekends, statutory holidays, during summer break, Christmas break, March break, or snow days. However, extra hours may be available if desired (school field trips, After-school events, weekend sport tournaments, etc.).
Job Types: Casual, (potential to become Permanent)
Salary: $25.80 per hour, 6 hours per day

License/Certification:
- Class 2BE Driver's License.
Qualifications:
Qualifications are High School Diploma or equivalent, driver's license with a clear driving record, satisfactory medical history with no identified cardiac concerns, a strong orientation towards safety and good interpersonal and communication skills.
To operate a school bus, you will require a class 2BE driver's license. If you do not currently have a class 2BE license, we provide all required training to help you obtain one. The process involves:
Complete a 5-day training course
Obtain a clean criminal check, vulnerable sector check, a drivers abstract. a vision test, a written test, and a road test.
Once a 2BE license is obtained, we provide paid behind the wheel training, and reimbursement for most licensing costs.
Employment with Anglophone East offers:
- 4-hour minimum call in.
- Paid sick day accrual (1.5 days per month once you become full time).
- 4% Vacation pay paid on every pay deposit (bi-weekly)
- Paid training on routes.
- Typically, the same model of bus (automatic transmission).
- Potential to park bus at your home, or a nearby depot.
- An average day consists of a morning shift, and an afternoon shift.
- Paid "snow days" (provided you were previously scheduled to work).
- Casual bus drivers can pick and choose work assignments.
Selected candidates will be required to complete a weeklong District training course to be held April 13-17, 2026 from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
The names of successful applicants (once trained) will be placed on a replacement driver list and may be called to work on an as-required basis.
Successful applicants will be advanced to a preliminary online video interview as part of the screening process before an in-person interview is scheduled. This preliminary interview MUST be completed to advance to the in-person interview stage.
