Position Summary
In Treasury, we focus on managing Seapeak's cash and liquidity, maintaining the Company's overall financial health, and mitigating financial risks to our business. This includes supporting our day-to-day business obligations and the long-term financial objectives of the Company.
The Financial Analyst, Treasury will be responsible for managing liquidity, overseeing all global cash management operations, cash forecasting, foreign exchange management, a diversified debt portfolio and interest rate risk management. The successful candidate will be required to establish and maintain strong working relationships within a collaborative team and serve as a liaison to the Company's Corporate Units, JV partners and external banking partners. This is a 15‑month contract position to provide coverage during a maternity leave.
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze daily cash report for 100 bank accounts globally, utilize our treasury management system to make efficient use of cash
- Prepare short-term liquidity forecast and ensure accuracy by performing variance analysis to actuals to identify forecast improvements
- Execute FX purchases and short-term investment trades and explore process improvements
- Loan/lease/bond and derivative reporting for $4.3 billion of debt from 30 different banks and lessors, and $1.8 billion of derivatives; reconciliation and variance analysis
- Monitor financial and operational compliance for all forms of debt and derivatives and liaise with JV partners
- Coordinate closing processes for new financings, refinancing and vessel purchases and sales
- Monitor, maintain and report FX and interest rate swaps. Assist with execution and organization of derivative agreements – ISDA Master Agreements, Schedules and DF/EMIR regulatory requirements
- Supervise bank account openings and KYC (Know Your Client) process related to loan financings and projects
- Negotiate and execute letters of credit/performance bonds as necessary to support ongoing projects
- Review notes to financial statements in areas such as debt, leases, derivatives, commitments and liquidity and liaise with accounting and auditors in their quarterly, annual and SOX reviews
- Review and analyze bank/processing fees and work with our banking partners to determine best practices for fee savings
- Drive operational efficiency and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Treasury and finance related tasks and projects, as required
- Minimum 3-5 years in treasury, finance or accounting
- Post-Secondary education with concentration in finance or accounting, CPA designation an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and Power Point
- Experience with:
- Loan documentation and compliance
- Cash budgeting and liquidity forecasting
- Foreign exchange and interest rate risk products
- Bank relationship management
- On-line electronic banking systems, treasury workstations and accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and perform them efficiently with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to perform with a team-environment and independently with minimal supervision
- Superior people, organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exposure to treasury management system, FIS Quantum/GTreasury
- Experience with Oracle ERP Cloud or similar accounting system
The typical hiring range for this position is $80,000 – $100,000 CAD per year. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
