YOUR IMPACT

Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for designing, Implementing and maintaining enterprise observability and monitoring stack across hybrid/cloud platforms. This role provides  deep technical expertise, drives best practices, improves monitoring quality, and ensures high reliability, actionable alerting, and ITIL-aligned operations in collaboration with NOC, engineering teams, and leadership.

WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS

  • Audit & Compliance: Maintain network and cloud documentation to meet internal and external audit requirements. Ensure adherence to regulatory standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX) and corporate security policies. Prepare and present compliance reports for audits and management reviews.
  • Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments across cloud and on-prem network devices. Collaborate with security teams to remediate identified risks promptly.
  • Implement best practices for patch management and configuration hardening.
  • Cloud & Network Security: Monitor cloud and network environments for security breaches, anomalies, and compliance violations. Manage firewall rules, VPN configurations, and access controls. Support incident response and forensic analysis when required.
  • Operational Support: Maintain high availability and performance of LAN/WAN, wireless, and cloud connectivity. Troubleshoot complex network and cloud issues and provide escalation support. Assist in capacity planning and network architecture improvements.
  • WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), cloud certifications, or Zabbix certifications are a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Observability and Monitoring technologies (correlation, event pipelines, topology, service modeling).
  • Expertise in NNMi skills: network topology, polling strategies, SNMP, traps, RCA.
  • Deep understanding of Zabbix architectures, templates, event routing, and automation.
  • Expert-level Graylog pipeline design, parsing logic, and log ingestion strategies.
  • Proven SRE experience with SLIs/SLOs, reliability architecture, and incident management.
  • Strong Linux, Kubernetes, networking, and scaling concepts for production systems.
  • Expertise in automation using Python, Bash, Terraform, and Ansible integration with GitLab pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4 and ability to enforce governance.
  • Proven ability to mentor engineers, and influence cross-functional groups.
  • Strong understanding of GDPR principles, data protection rules, and EMEA data residency requirements
  • Foundational understanding of AI Concepts, Machine learning basics.
  • Ability to leverage LLM based tools for troubleshooting, documentation and automation creativity
  • Observability Tools: NewRelic, Dynatrace

    Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial well-being. As you move through the hiring process, we're happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

    Salary Range: $70,000 - $105,000 CAD; Depending on the candidate's education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
