We are seeking qualified individuals for the role of Mine Electrical Planner. Please note that FIFO is not offered for this role; this position will be based in Labrador West, NL. The schedule for this position will be Monday – Friday. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for efficient planning and scheduling of all electrical maintenance activities related to the mine electrical infrastructure, mobile electrical equipment & power distribution infrastructure.
  • Monitor and analyze maintenance history and KPIs to optimize maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Create weekly schedules and long-term maintenance plans for the mine electrical team.
  • Work with the engineering & execution teams to alter & maintain the long-term schedule around critical activities such as power outages & equipment outages to ensure successful and safe execution of all planned work.
  • Work with maintenance planning leadership, coordinators, and planners to develop short, mid, and long-term plans for equipment maintenance.
  • Identify & catalog parts & pieces which are critical to maintenance of the equipment. Collaborate with warehouse to ensure rights parts are stock at correct quantities. 
  • Ensure behavior is compliant with the site's safety management plan.
  • Efficient ordering of parts through appropriate channels and approvals to execute sound planning activities.
  • Ensure the maintenance management system is fully utilized to ensure transparency across the business.
  • Liaise with maintenance supervisors, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure supplies and service are available according to the finalized schedule.
  • Provide feedback to relevant leadership personnel regarding site issues that may affect the operating and financial performance of the operation and equipment.
  • Provide the mine electrical infrastructure team lead with monthly reports and assist with continuous improvement where possible.
  • Use the established systems to track planning KPI's of the mine electrical department and provide insight on shortfalls or areas of improvement. 
  • Contribute to the annual mine electrical budget where required.
  • Constantly seek continuous improvement opportunities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Mining facility operations in the Mining industry, including Mine maintenance, heavy equipment, safety, maintenance, equipment, power distribution, and staff utilization.
  • Previous experience working with CMMS, preferably ABB Ellipse.
  • Computer aptitude for planning and scheduling (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Previous knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Project management experience with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience in document control systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment.  
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • High Voltage experience up to 46KV considered an asset
  • Previous experience in the construction & maintenance of substations considered an asset.

Education:

  • Engineering Degree (Electrical Engineering)
  • Work with maintenance planning leadership, coordinators, and planners to develop short, mid, and long-term plans for equipment maintenance.

License:

  • Driver's License (Required)
