Responsibilities:
Financial Systems & Platforms
- Partner with IT to enhance, configure, and support the Enterprise Resource Program (ERP) and financial reporting systems.
- Assist with system configurations, report parameters, and data mappings.
- Coordinate finance requirements gathering, testing, validation, and implementation for system upgrades and new modules.
- Support system integrations between finance systems and other enterprise platforms.
- Serve as the primary finance subject‑matter expert on system functionality, internal controls, and reporting architecture.
- Identify and escalate system or data issues impacting reporting accuracy or timeliness.
Financial Reporting Support
- Develop and maintain standardized financial reports, dashboards, and analytical models for internal and regulatory users.
- Build reporting frameworks that support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, capital planning, and performance measurement.
- Ensure accurate data flows from source systems to financial reporting outputs.
Analytical & Operational Support
- Provide financial insights to support planning, forecasting, capital projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Analyze results, trends, and variances to support informed decision‑making.
- Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end processes, ensuring data integrity and reporting completeness.
- Apply accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS, PSAB, OEB) to ensure compliance and consistency.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Drive process standardization and automation across financial reporting and planning functions.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and usability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional accounting designation.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP and financial reporting systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytics/reporting tools.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial controls.
- Proven ability to lead system-related initiatives within a finance function.
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge finance and technology.
- Highly organized, self‑directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
