We are seeking a new Vice President of Leasing to join Brookfield Properties in Calgary, Alberta. In this role, you will play a key role in inspiring change and continual improvement. If you are committed to excellence and ready to contribute to a dynamic culture, we would love to meet you.
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Western Canada, this position will oversee and manage the leasing of office space for all Brookfield's portfolio in Western Canada Region.
Role & Responsibilities:Responsible for the new leasing, expansion and renewal of 9 office buildings totaling 8 million sq. ft.
Presents suitable office space to prospective tenants through written correspondence and/or tours through the building
Develops and maintains relationships with brokers by telephone calls and meetings to keep them informed about available Brookfield space, to enable brokers to effectively market the properties to prospective tenants
Provides prospective tenants with proposals, outlining financial and spatial merits of a potential deal. Analyzes financial terms using financial models and knowledge of Brookfield strategy and proforma objectives
Develops offers to lease by negotiating with prospective tenants and/or Brokers
Negotiates and/or supervises the negotiation of leases in conjunction with legal counsel
Contacts potential tenants through cold calling and mass mailings
Prepares monthly/quarterly reports detailing new prospects, and status updates. Attends weekly meetings to discuss currents problems and opportunities
Coordinates leasing specific marketing initiatives for office buildings
Participates in the preparation of the annual leasing budget. Provides input into the modification of the leasing strategy on a quarterly basis
Participates in regional management meetings. Liaise with other departments to coordinate regional activities
Minimum 10 years office leasing experience
Completion of University degree
Real Estate License with RECA
Advanced level Microsoft Office skills
Service oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Must have a strong aptitude for marketing and negotiating
Demonstrates strong leadership and have the ability to set priorities in a fast paced environment
Consistent courteous and professional customer service skills are essential for developing and sustaining relationships with both internal and external customers
Excellent analytical, conceptual thinking and problem solving skills are required
