Job Description: The Social Worker BSW reports to the Director of Community Health Services for administrative supervision and to the Clinical Supervisor for Adult or Child and Youth Mental Programs for clinical supervision. In accordance with the vision, mission and values of the Heartland Health Region, the policies and procedures relating to Mental Health and Addictions services and within the boundaries of the west central area of Saskatchewan, the Social Worker (BSW) is responsible for the provision of community-based mental health counseling services to clients within the Mental Health Adult or Child and Youth Mental Health Programs.

- Ability to work in a cross cultural setting
- Knowledge in evidence based models of treatment intervention and application
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Sound clinical judgement skills.
- Knowledge in adult treatment and intervention techniques
- Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships
- Ability to provide public/educational presentations
- ability and willingness to travel within service delivery area
- Ability to effectively handle a large caseload,
- Conflict resolution skills to effectively handle difficult issues
- Demonstrated understanding of community development
- Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking
- Demonstrate ethical behaviour in the provision of other areas of practice
- Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice
- Effective interpersonal relationship skills
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Advance computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Access).
- Ability to demonstrate appropriate level of professional conduct and judgement.
- Knowledge of the the Provincial Mental Health Services Act and Regulations
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Standards and application of such
- Knowledgeable in treatments across a wide clinical spectrum

- Lifting/moving clinical equip. may be req'd in accord. w/EH&S Standards
- Valid Class 5 driver's license

- Unity is located approximately 89 km southwest of North Battleford
- Travel may be required to provide service to sites within the network
- Can work flexible hours; ability to work shifts based on operational needs.
- Will provide visiting services to sites within the service area.
