HEABC leads and supports the strategic planning related to human resources and labour relations on behalf of British Columbia's publicly funded health employers. HEABC is responsible for negotiating provincial agreements for 138,000 unionized health care employees including nurses, physician residents, ambulance paramedics, health science professionals, and more.

Health Match BC is growing and expanding the recruitment services it provides for in-demand and priority occupations. This includes new recruitment services and supports for registered nurses. We are currently in need of new team members who have a passion for recruitment and customer service and a keen interest in making an impact across communities in BC.

The successful candidate may be permitted to work in a hybrid model (combination of in-office and flexible work location) and will live within commuting distance of our Vancouver office.

OPPORTUNITY:

HEABC has an opportunity for an Associate, Nursing (Immigration) to cover a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Manager, Nursing Recruitment – Navigation Services, the Recruitment Associate provides specialized immigration support to internationally educated nurses, to support their candidate journey to BC. The Recruitment Associate will also participate in initiatives and projects aimed at increasing applications and registrations of nurses.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing up-to-date and accurate information, expert advice, and assistance to candidates and health employers in dealing with provincial and federal officials, consultants, employers, and others with respect to immigration matters.
  • Educating candidates and employers about immigration matters through consultation calls and by delivering presentations, developing electronic and printed communications materials, and providing relevant written and verbal information on the BC Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and other immigration processes.
  • Entering and updating all relevant data within the Health Match BC database system and producing reports as required and updating tracking sheet.
  • Staying up to date on general immigration news and policy changes, updating internal and external partners, as well as candidates.

Required Experience:

  • Successful completion of human resources diploma or relevant degree.
  • RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant) is considered an asset.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a position requiring knowledge of recruitment practices, immigration matters or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (preferably in health care).
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, along with the ability to provide specialized recruitment support services, including candidate management, supporting Federal/ Provincial government application processing programs, and providing immigration, temporary work visa, and permanent residence information.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Teams), and other online systems (e.g. Zoom, virtual webinars).
  • The ability to research and present issues, effectively prioritize work, make formal presentations, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Some travel may be required.

Salary Range: $62,239 to $81,689

Typical Hiring Range: $62,239 to $77,799

In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate's skillset and experience as well as internal equity.
