The Senior Manager, Merchandising and Mapping primarily leads development and execution of all event communication, promotional/insulator programs and store communication. The role will provide support to, and liaise with, Merchants, Category Directors, internal departments, and store operations teams regarding programs, promotional initiatives and opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Build overall plan to optimize to HABA Floor Mapping to drive incremental sales
  • Responsible for building holistic plans that reflect the broader themes, plans of the BU while supporting banner guardrails and the needs of our Customers
  • Collaborate with category team to plan and integrate insulator program (10/$10, Always, Rounded and Multi -Buy) from start to finish. This includes working cross –functionally with Merchants and divisional Pricing & Promotions team to ensure sales and margin targets are achieved, the right product is selection and featured to align with the overall campaign
  • Identify promotional conflicts, including overlapping events, overlapping promotions and loyalty events, JDA promo systems knowledge required to manage such overlaps
  • Action ad match, complete competitor review and alert Category Directors and Merchants to relevant competitive activity including monitor the industry relative to competitive trends.
  • Support Pricing & Promotions team on ad match and issuing correction notices as needed
  • Support comprehensive flyer integrity check, update flyer retails and key limits in JDA
  • Responsible for all store communication, including approving and managing markdown and store communications
  • Responsible for leading and coaching direct reports

Sr. Manager Skills

This position requires an advanced level of initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects. Courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in every day working relationships

  • Strong process development and change management skills required for the growth of fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, as demonstrated by the ability to accurately identify critical issues and pursue their resolution with focus and determination. Has a proactive and hands-on approach to tackle ambiguous business issues
  • Track record of defining and following processes, and drives continuous improvement to refine as needed.
  • A results-oriented outlook with the ability to prioritize and deliver on key initiatives; ability to engage and influence others without formal reporting lines.
  • Advanced MS Excel and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, as well as fixture specifications
  • Proven ability to effectively work, communicate and negotiate across dynamic teams in order to arrive at mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Ability to translate conceptual strategies to executable plans and processes; experience in leading change management initiatives.
  • Detail oriented and well organized
  • Ability to drive accountability

Sr. Manager Role Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience in merchandising, promotional planning and/or retail operations or related experience
  • Strong technical and system knowledge including JDA Promo Planning and Allocations, Microstrategy, SAP and Query Language is an asset
