What is the Opportunity?
This career opportunity is for a mid to senior-level risk specialist who is motivated and driven, creative, and technically proficient. The Controls & Governance Specialist will serve as a critical operational resource within Global Product Control, responsible for establishing and maintaining comprehensive risk and control frameworks across the organization. This role bridges governance, operational risk management, and metrics tracking, ensuring that control activities are documented and executed effectively, and risks are documented and monitored systematically within the enterprise registers.
What will you do?
- Own the submissions, maintenance, and continuous improvement of risk and control registers across Global PC
- Coordinate risk identification and assessment activities; manage the operational risk reporting cycle; prepare risk dashboards and escalate emerging risks through appropriate governance channels
- Design and track key performance indicators for control health and maturity; establish data pipelines to automate metrics collection
- Partner with first-line business teams, Internal Audit, Compliance, and second-line functions to maintain alignment; ensure consistency in control documentation and support management of audit recommendations.
- Create and maintain control narratives, process flow documentation; support the design of operational processes with embedded control points and risk considerations.
- Potentially leverage Agentic technology to accelerate regular activities
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- A minimum of 4 years' experience in Product Control or Operational Risk
- Bachelor's degree Finance or a related field
- Demonstrated background in operating risk and control frameworks.
- Experience with risk and control registers, control testing, and operational risk assessments
- Experience documenting operational processes, identifying control points, and designing control procedures.
- Familiarity with risk and control narrative development
Nice-to-have :
- Capital markets or Product Control experience
- Energy and positive attitude, drive, problem-solver,
- Strong sense of ownership, collaborative, and focused results
- Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly-traded corporation
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
